HORACE. Les Poësies, translated into French: with remarks and critical dissertations. By Father Sanadon, of the Society of Jesus. Amsterdam & Leipzig, Arkstée et Merkus, 1756. 8 volumes in-8, fawn calf, gilt ribbon in frame, smooth spine decorated in the grotesque style, black titles and tomasons, interior roulette, gilt edges (Binding of the time). Frontispiece and a figure representing a banquet scene (t. V, p. 576), both engraved on copper by Legrand. Copy in a large paper of Holland in a very decorative binding. The volumes are well addressed to Amsterdam: Brunet indicates that those to the address of Paris "have experienced retrenchments in the free passages".
