LABORDE (Benjamin de). Choice of songs set to music. Paris, De Lormel, 1773. 4 volumes large in-8, blue morocco, triple gilt fillet, ornate spine, inner lace, gilt edges on marbling (Chambolle-Duru). One of the most beautiful books of the 18th century, with fully engraved text and music. The illustration includes an engraved title, 3 frontispieces by Le Bouteux and Le Barbier, a dedication leaf with the arms of the Dauphine, and 100 figures by Moreau le jeune, Le Barbier, Le Bouteux and Saint-Quentin, finely engraved by Masquelier and Née. A very fine copy, perfectly established by Chambolle-Duru, containing in volume I the portrait of Laborde in a lyre, engraved by Masquelier after Denon.
