MARGUERITE DE NAVARRE. French Heptameron. Les Nouvelles de Marguerite, reine de Navarre. Berne, Société typographique, 1780-1781. 3 volumes in-8, midnight blue morocco, border formed by twists entwined between two fillets, smooth spine decorated, interior Greek, gilt edges (Binding of the time). A frontispiece by Dunker, repeated in each volume, 73 figures engraved after Freudeberg, 72 vignettes at the head of the book and 72 endpapers by Dunker. Remarkable morocco binding decorated in the taste of Courteval. A copy with distinguished provenance: it belonged successively to the Marquis de Biencourt, André Sciama, Adolphe Bordes and Louis Giraud-Badin. Some yellowed leaves, especially in the first half of volume III; 5 figures (4 in volume I and one in volume II) bear in the lower margin a number formerly written in pen.
