High relief in carved boxwood representing the Virgin and Child and the little Saint John the Baptist in a poly-lobed frame in tortoiseshell veneer. High oval relief inserted in an octagonal panel with the Virgin in clouds, the right knee raised on which is seated the Child Jesus who blesses with his right hand and who puts his other hand on the globe presented to him by his Mother; he looks at the young St. John the Baptist, lower right, astride the back of the Lamb; frame punctuated with heads of angels; bronze attachment with head of angel with spread wings. Flanders, entourage of Mathieu van Beveren (Antwerp, 1630 - Brussels, 1690), circa 1660/80 High relief: 17.3 cm - Width: 8 cm - Depth: 5.7 cm Total height (without attachment): 31.3 cm - Width: 22 cm Handwritten inscription on the back (slight cracks in the shell)
