* Rare gold chatelaine (750 thousandths) of revolutionary period with four bands of circular links, with gold trimmings chased and guilloche style Louis XVI, ending with two rings holding in pendants a miniature tomb in breccia marble probably evoking the death of the Royal Family, and a double-sided octagonal miniature featuring the grisaille portraits of Louis XVI, King of France (1774-1792), and of Joseph II, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire (1765-1790), respectively husband and brother of Queen Marie-Antoinette, in the style of Piat Joseph Sauvage (1744-1818) Probably missing the pocket watch and another pendant. Good general condition. Paris, 1789-1792. Discharge mark for Paris, 1789-1792, and small guarantee mark for Paris, 1798-1809. H. 31.5 cm. Gross weight : 50,3 g.
