Paris, Charles-Antoine Jombert, 1743. 3 volumes in-8, marbled calf, spine ornamented, spider-web iron in the caissons, red edges (period binding). First edition, decorated with 32 folding plates and 17 folding tables. Volume III contains a small dictionary of the most necessary terms & most in use in Fortification, Artillery, Attack & Defense of Places. Wet stamps repeated, illegible or overprinted (those affixed on the false-title of volume I and volume III are torn off). Margins of first and last leaves browned. Spines a little dry, defects to the headpieces of volume I, a split jaw on the height of a box, trace of run on the boards of volume II.
