Leiden, Pierre Vander Aa, 1699. 2 parts in one volume in-folio, granite calf, framed in the style of Du Seuil, large central finial drawn with small irons, spine decorated, edges speckled (Binding of the time). Superb illustrated monograph on the castles, large pleasure houses, abbeys and religious buildings of Brabant, originally published in 1694. Trilingual text, in Flemish, French and Latin. The first part of the volume is divided into four parts; the second part of the volume, in separate pagination with a special title, is entitled L'Érection de toutes les terres, seigneuries & familles titrées du Brabant... Abundant engraved intaglio illustration, including in total a title-frontispiece engraved by Diepenbeke, 2 engraved dedication leaves, 7 double-page maps, 199 (26 + 77 + 72 + 17 + 7) engraved views in the text or included in the pagination, and 14 double-page plates. A fine copy. Two plates a little yellowed, some small marginal or angular spotting. Small loss at the head cap, crack at one of the spines for 3 cm. An extract from the bookseller's catalog (4 leaves) was found in one copy but is not present here.
