In-8, brown speckled calf, triple gilt fillet, smooth spine decorated with fillets and a repeated fleuron, red title page, spotted edges (Binding around 1800). Rothschild, n°2938. - Viollet-le-Duc, p. 271. - Barbier-Mueller, IV, n°45. First edition of the works of Joachim Blanchon, poet from Limousin and disciple of Pierre de Ronsard. One finds there in particular the Amours de Dione, Pasithée, the Treasure of sentences, or still a curious poem entitled Des trente beautés de la femme. The edition is dedicated to Henri III, it is decorated with his portrait engraved on copper. Eighteenth century handwritten bookplates of two congregations of Saint-Maur on the title. Rubbing to the binding, particularly to the hinges.
