Le Voyage d'Urien. Paris, Librairie de l'Art Indépendant, 1893. Small in-4, brick morocco, on each cover decorated with a cold fillet and gilt representing two large waves unfolding in opposite directions, interior framing marked with the cold parts of the decoration of the covers, lining and endpapers of ochre nubuck, gilt edges on witnesses, cover and spine, half-brick morocco folder, case (J. Anthoine Legrain) First edition realized in collaboration with Maurice Denis, illustrated with 30 original lithographs printed on two colored backgrounds, ochre or jade green, and a wood on the cover. It is the only book illustrated with original lithographs of Maurice Denis. This book is the most accentuated trace of symbolism, the ratification by the Nabis of the principle of the Book of dialogues (Yves Peyré). One of 300 copies on cream laid paper Autograph address on the title page, signed by the author and the artist: to Mr. L. Muhlfeld in great sympathy. Lucien Muhlfeld (1856-1907), novelist and drama critic, author of articles in the Revue d'Art Dramatique and the Echo de Paris, published in the Revue Blanche in August 1896, a tribute to Edmond de Goncourt who had just died. Beautiful binding, evoking waves, undoubtedly those of the Pathétique ocean. Jacques Antoine-Legrain, Pierre Legrain's son-in-law and assistant, was active from 1930 to 1950.
