He saw "LE VOYAGEUR SANS BAGAGES" the success of which gave me pleasure for you and for [Georges] PITOËFF, who plays it as well as possible. And my pleasure would have been unmixed if I had not loved your work to the point that it is difficult for me not to keep a little regret for not having known it. She gives him her opinion on the working method to adopt during rehearsals "It is detestable that actors receive contradictory indications from three different people. He compliments him for L'Alouette "It is marvelous! everything is splendid [...]"; PITOËFF Georges (1884-1939) L.S., Paris, July 24, 1937. 1 p. large in-4. Header of the Compagnie Pitoëff - Théâtre des Mathurins. He indicates the order of the plays "I will put LE SAUVAGE in rehearsals after L'ECHANGE and I hope to be able to go on with this play at the end of September, first days of October." He announces to her that he has started his staging and wishes to know if there will be any changes to make. He asks her for good addresses at the seaside and concludes "[...] try not to leave on a cruise without seeing me for a short time about possible distributions [...]"; PRINTEMPS Yvonne (1894-1977) C.A.S. Paris (n.d.) 2 pp. He recommends a "[...] young artist André Maillol who is currently playing in "L'Aiglon" [...]"; SALACROU Armand (1899-1989) 4 L.A.S. Courval, Paris and Le Havre, (s.d.) 6 pp. in-8 and in-folio. In Le Havre, he announces "Yes, we could know each other very well, and we will know each other, I hope, in the fall. [...]" he tells him where he lives and hopes to see him as soon as he returns to Paris. The two letters written by Courval deal with the same subject: an actress friend of Anouilh "is spreading explosive remarks", he tries to make him guess her identity "She is an actress friend of your wife and of you, and who plays in my play [...]"; in Paris, he plays a lot of plays.LEMAÎTRE Antoine Louis Prosper dit Frederick (1800-1876). 2 L.A.S. addressed to Monsieur Edouard Fournier, homme de lettres (s.l.n.d. 1867) 2 pp. in-folio. "Mr. Edouard Fournier to whom I beg you with this souvenir..." one encloses his envelope and "Dear master would it be still time, to obtain, a small bath for this evening? that would please me a lot!"; RACHEL (1821-1858) L.A.S. "Rachel" to Mr. Arsène Houssay, (s.l.n.d.) on December 9. 1 p. in-folio. "My dear Mr. Houssaye, I have just seen Mr. Laroche who is waiting for a box for tonight's performance, I hasten to tell you so that you can still make amends in case of forgetfulness, which is quite natural, a thousand regards."
