L.A.S. to the Empress Joséphine. Monza, September 18, 1806. 3 pp. bifeuillet in-4 on embossed paper framed and edged in yellow. Very beautiful letter from the princess to her mother-in-law the Empress Josephine, a few months after her marriage with Prince Eugene, Augusta is then pregnant with her first child. Mr. de La Feuilliade gave her Joséphine's kind letter, which filled her with joy "[...] that which you deign to witness to the happiness that I will soon experience in becoming a mother, has not diminished it. I accept with great pleasure the woman whom Your Majesty wishes to send to me for my childbirth; Eugene had already spoken very highly of her. [I cannot tell you how reassured I am to have a woman on whom I can rely at such a time, and it is to you, my dear Mother, that I owe this. As you are still kind enough to work for me, it could make me proud; I already have the charming case which makes my admiration and that of all the people who see it. Really, I fear that so much kindness will make me envious [...]". Her brother Louis has been with her since Monday evening. "You must understand the joy that we both feel, it had been so long since I had seen anyone from my family [...]. My brother could not praise enough the kindnesses that You Madam and His Majesty the Emperor had for him. He will never forget them, as well as his sister [...]". She addresses in p.s. her respectful tributes to His Majesty the Emperor and addresses to the Empress a veil made "of spider silk [...]."
