Yarkand carpet from East Turkestan, in the Xinjiang region (northwest China) This carpet is adorned at the ends with two vases from which branches and twigs spring, embellished with ivory and gold pomegranates on an intense blue background. The main ivory border is dotted with the "yunzaitou" motif, framed by a red border with interlacing multicolored motifs ending in an arrowhead. These two borders are surrounded by three narrow borders. Hand-knotted wool rug on cotton warp and weft Circa 1900 4.14 x 2.10 m - 13ft7 x 6ft11 Good condition
