Carpets from China, in the Ningxia region Carpet featuring the classic Peking design. On a midnight-blue field streaked with intersecting lines, a central medallion stands out, decorated with numerous emblems: Taoist (the sword, the basket of flowers, the flute, the drum and the castanets), Buddhist (the lotus) and a precious object (the leaf). It is encircled by a grecque and framed by a wide navy-blue border decorated with beige cartouches featuring shou, a symbol of long life, and vases of flowers placed on small tables, symbols of a wish for peace and rest.
