MICHEL BOULANGER COLLECTION Masquette Vuvi Gabon Wood, fiber H. 12 cm (without beard - 21 cm with beard) Provenance Galerie Philippe Laeremans, Brussels Michel Boulanger Collection Miniature Vuvi mask featuring a geometrically treated face. In the center, coffee-bean eyes frame a triangular nose. Fiber pendants encircle the mask. Light polychrome wood. A comparable example was part of the collection of artist Marcel Gromaire (see Goy, Tsogho, les icônes du Bwiti, Paris, 2016, p. 36, fig. 17).
