COLLECTION MONSIEUR X. Lobi head Burkina Faso Wood H. 52.5 cm Provenance : Sotheby's, London, June 21, 1993, lot 72 Collection Monsieur X. Lobi head surmounted by a cap. The face is round, with geometric details: convex almond-shaped eyes, a fine nose in relief, and a quadrangular mouth. A long cylindrical neck ending in a point was originally used to secure the sculpture to the ground. Remarkable patina of use.
