COLLECTION MONSIEUR X. Guéré mask Ivory Coast Wood, organic materials, fabric, cartouches, metal, nails, shells H. 43 cm Provenance Monsieur X Collection. Imposing, striking Guéré mask in its original finery. The wooden core is barely visible beneath the profusion of ornamentation: tubular eyes with bleached tips, wide nose enhanced with red pigments, wide quadrangular mouth revealing spaced teeth. Upholsterer's nails are applied to the most prominent elements.
