COLLECTION MONSIEUR X. Dogon statue Mali Wood H. 30 cm Provenance : Daniel Hourdé, Paris Collection Monsieur X. The statue's powerful volumes depict a kneeling woman carrying a child on her back. The buttocks rest on the heels, the arms detached from the body, the hands resting on the knees, the chest slender, the navel protruding. On the face, with its schematic features, the mouth is adorned with a labret. Beautiful reddish-brown to black ritual patina.
