EXEMPLAIRE DE PIERRE JAMMES In-folio oblong (368 x 480 mm). Engraved title dated 1638 and index dated 1653. ILLUSTRATION: 1 title engraved on copper by Jacob de Rubeis and dated 1638, 100 engravings on 51 leaves signed in the plate with the monogram "FP B" for Franciscus Perrier Burgundus. Reduced edition with two subjects per plate except plates 87 and 100; 51 plates. EIGHTEENTH CENTURY BINDINGS. Half blond basane, long ornate spine, red edges. PROVENANCE: Robert de Billy (1869-1953; bookplate) -- Pierre Jammes (October 12-13, 2010, no. 285) Browning with missing plate 77 Copy printed on fine strong paper and containing the index leaf dated 1653. Brunet, echoing Robert-Dumesnil, distinguishes five titles with different addresses. The title of this book is a variant of the second state with the address of Joannes de Rubeis, but without the mention Romae superiorum permissis.
