LE CABINET DE CURIOSITÉ D'UN HUGUENOT EN EXIL ORIGINAL EDITION In-12 (152 x 98 mm). COLLATION: 10 ff. n. ch., 138 pp. ILLUSTRATION: 1 copper-engraved frontispiece after Schonebeck, a pupil of Romeyn de Hooghe, 2 fold-out hors-texte plates, one engraved by Schonebeck, 8 intaglio engravings included in the text. CONTEMPORARY BINDING. Ivory vellum, spine ribbed with handwritten title and author, red edges. Restoration in the margins of the first few leaves.
The coin found in the vicinity of Rome and referred to in this work could be an incense spoon used in Roman sacrifices. The author takes advantage of the publication to announce the description of his own cabinet of curiosities; the plates in the text describe this room, and even the ceiling with the eighth plate.
