Woodcut fleuron, headbands and initials, chronological table of Popes from Pisa ILLUSTRATION: frontispiece after Petrus de Petris engraved by Hieronymus Frezza, 33 intaglio plates, one of which is a repeated view of the Basilica and Tower of Pisa engraved in 1703 by Dominique Mariani Franceschino after Joseph I François de Milanis, a plan of the Basilica after Camille Rainier Burghius repeated once, numerous sections of the Basilica, views of the interior decor, sculpted panels, all after drawings by J. and F. de Milanis, Petrus de Petris and engraved by Franceschino and Frezza. BINDING CIRCA 1800. Vellum spine and corners, blue marbled paper boards. Some foxing, stains and small holes, rubbing to boards. Giuseppe Martini, canon of Pisa, offers here, in 1705, an indispensable illustrated monograph of Pisa Cathedral, the cemetery and the famous tower represented on plate 29 by a rare and magnificent view.
