(red wet stamp) -- library label on flyleaf "P 109" Small marginal cut at top of title page, no damage to text Italian antiquarian Jean-Christophe Battelli (1658-1725), protégé and secretary to Cardinal Carlo Barberini, was esteemed enough by Clement XI (Albani) to become his cameraman and librarian. He later became canon of the Liberian basilica, secretary of the Briefs to the Princes (1711) and Archbishop of Amasia (1716).
