Mossi post Burkina Faso Wood, iron H. 104 cm Provenance : - Roger Budin (1928-2005), Ghent - Picard, Roger Budin Collection, October 8, 1991, lot 205 - Private collection Mossi post whose shaft is adorned with the representation of a female figure sculpted in high relief in a classical style tending towards geometrization. The face is set in an ogival-shaped head, the eyes marked by two iron points. The rounded shoulders are extended by long, angular arms. The massive body, punctuated by generous breasts, is criss-crossed by fine engraved scarification marks. The powerful legs are depicted schematically. Very fine patina attesting to the object's age.
