Two dolls Hopi, Arizona, USA Carved wood, pigments, wool, feathers Rugan Katsina (Rattling Kachina) & Nuvak Katsina (Snow Kachina) Mid-twentieth century H. 11 cm and 9.5 cm Two charming kachinas, probably carved by the same Hopi artist. The top of each figure's head is adorned with wool, and the paint colors have remained vivid. Condition report: Consistent with use and age, some old damage to the feet of both kachinas, pigment loss on the surface, slight darkening of the wool ornaments.
