[DOISNEAU Robert] NOUVEAUX DESTINS DE L'INTELLIGENCE FRANCAISE. Paris, la France de l'Esprit, 1943. In-folio, illustrated cover. Publication largely in homage to Marshal Pétain. Robert Doisneau is the author of 12 photographs printed in the book. An autograph note in the copy, written by his daughter Annette, states: "My father had yielded to the kind pressure of Maximilien Vox, without knowing that he was going to find himself wearing the marshal's hat and the francisque... the real Doisneau, of course, is the one from the Resistance and the Imprimeries clandestines. Annette Doisneau Enclosed: - an original Doisneau photograph, period print, 23.5 x 18 cm, showing German soldiers in front of the Eiffel Tower during the Occupation. The censor's stamp is covered by Doisneau's stamp on the reverse. - an Associated Press photograph of Pétain being transferred to the courthouse in 1945. - the publishing contract mentioning Robert Doisneau's photographic work for the book. Doisneau's photographs appear on pages 23,3/,40,41, 55, 70, 126, 129, 134, 143, 154, 155, In addition to Doisneau's photographs, there are those by Laure Albin-Guillot and Marcel Bovis.
