PRÉVERT Pierre et Jacques
2 AUTOGRAPH LETTERS SIGNED, 2 POST CARDS SIGNED from Pierre and ONE ORIGINAL DRAWING from Jacques PRÉVERT to Jean Bourgoin. 1971-1979, 3 envelopes preserved. Friendly, humorous correspondence from Pierre Prévert to Jean Bourgoin, director of photography for Une Partie de campagne, La vie est à nous, La Grande Illusion and La Marseillaise by Jean Renoir, among others, as well as Pierre Prévert's 1947 Le Voyage surprise. We came back enchanted from our stay in the U.S., seeing only Jean Renoir, in memory of the good old days of French cinema. I'm still with the magazine! Meanwhile, I'm delighted to have seen Manèges, for Simone Signoret, beautifully photographed by you. Pierre Prévert illustrated his letter of February 24, 71, with a drawing of an ear and the caption: Pour savoir, il faut écouter pour écouter il faut entendre. One envelope bears a fake stamp made by Pierre Prévert, humorously depicting him. Also included is an original 27.5 x 21 cm colored felt-tip drawing by Jacques Prévert of a figure holding a sign with the caption: Bien amicalement J.P.
