In-8, cream morocco, large bouquet of mosaic thistles in front of a trail of stars in the center of the covers, inner frame decorated with mosaic fleurons at the corners, mustard morocco center set with a gilded fillet and decorated with mosaic floral scrolls, orange brocaded silk endpapers, gilded head, cover and spine (René Kieffer). 24 compositions by Georges Rochegrosse, etched by Eugène Decisy. Edition of 400 copies. One of 130 first copies on japon or grand vélin d'Arches, this one on grand vélin comprising three states of the illustrations, including the pure etching. It is enriched by one of the twenty suites of refused woodcut culs-de-lampe, printed on chine. Prospectus enclosed. Mosaic-lined binding by René Kieffer. Originally white, it is very yellowed and soiled, stained.
