In-4, violet morocco, large mosaic caparisoned white elephant on first board, set against a background of gilded skin, interior framed with gilded fillets, violet moire lining and endpapers, gilded edges, cover and spine, slipcase (Lehaye). 20 full-page color compositions by Léon Carré.
Text in two tones on a tinted background, embellished with typographical motifs and color frames based on decorative Buddhist paintings.
