Les Fleurs du mal. Paris, Les Cent Bibliophiles, 1899. In-4, green morocco, first cover decorated with incised and painted leather, accompanied by a stanza from Les Bijoux and a small mosaic orchid, interior framing decorated with gilded fillets, green velvet lining and endpapers stamped with a rose semé, gilded edges on witnesses, cover and spine, slipcase (Marius Michel). First edition, illustrated with 170 black and colored etchings by Rassenfosse, including a portrait of the author, a frontispiece, six hors-texte, 162 headpieces and endpieces. Edition of 115 copies on vellum. The six pages that are cartons have been left at the end of the volume and not mounted in their place indicated in the Avis du relieur. The dinner menu signed by the illustrator and Eugène Rodrigue, and a portrait of Baudelaire by Braquemond (Alliance des Arts print) have been added. Missing dust jacket. Spine entirely faded.
