Les Fleurs du mal. Paris, Imprimé pour Charles Meunier, 1900. In-4, burgundy morocco, double cold-stamped fillet, marbled mauve calf lining, the upper one decorated with a large mosaic motif (a viper wrapped around an orchid flower au naturel), cover and spine, slipcase (Ateliers Laurenchet). Striking color illustration by Carloz Schwabe, including cover, frontispiece, title finial, 9 plates out of text and 12 head and tailpieces. Edition of 77 numbered copies only, this one on Marais vellum. The boards of the publisher's binding, executed in mauve marbled calf by Charles Meunier, have been restored and carefully mounted as a lining. This copy includes a black suite of illustrations.
