MARX (Roger).
La Loïe Fuller. Prints modeled by Pierre Roche. Paris, Les Cent bibliophiles, 1904. Small-4, leaves, in publisher's hardback folder. First edition illustrated with 18 color-enhanced gypsographs by Pierre Roche, depicting the famous dancer, and a superb embossed cover. This gypsography technique (printing on moistened paper from a plaster mold), which has only been used twice to illustrate books, was invented and perfected by sculptor Pierre Roche (1855-1921). It is one of the most successful graphic researches in the history of Modern'style. The book itself was printed in the italic typeface specially created by Georges Auriol. Edition of 130 copies on strong vellum, not commercially available. Spotting on edges, binding missing.
