Eighteenth-century manuscript copy giving the text (12 articles signed between France and England) of the capitulation on June 28, 1756 of English general William Blakeney, governor of the Spanish island of Menorca.
Conquered by the English in 1708, during the War of the Spanish Succession, the island of Menorca was recaptured by France in 1756 after a siege lasting nearly two months and a major naval operation that led to the fall of Fort Saint-Philippe.
