PERRIN (Jean-Paul).
History of the Waldensians. Together 2 works in one volume in-8, granite calf, spine decorated (Binding of the period). One of the best historical works on the Vaudois and Albigensians, persecuted by Pope Innocent III, written by Jean-Paul Perrin, a French Protestant historian and minister born in Lyon in 1580 (Caillet, no. 8537). The second and third parts, in their original editions, are combined in a single volume, in separate pagination, under the title Histoire des Chrestiens Albigeois à l'adresse de Genève (Berjon, 1618); these include the doctrine and discipline of the Waldensians and Albigenses, and the treatise on Antichrist. The first part is a reprint, its title updated by one year. The copy appears to have belonged to a 17th-century Protestant authority, as suggested by the handwritten bookplate on the title: Ex-libris F.S. Mestrault prioris... ex domo Templosiana [maison du Temple?]. Some foxing, outer margin of title strengthened. Crack to one spine and worm gallery to another.
