First edition of this work, of which only the first volume saw the light of day, in which the Swiss physicist Pictet (1752-1825) describes his work on fire and caloric.
Adorned with a folding plate engraved by L'Évêque depicting two devices invented by the author.
Minor brown spots. Binding badly restored (hinges, headpieces and corners).
