[Paris, Prault], 1732. 6 volumes in 5 volumes in-12, marbled calf, ornate spine, red title page, red speckled edges (period binding). New critical and annotated edition of Rabelais, based on the one published by Le Duchat in 1711. (Map, p. 227.) Portrait of Rabelais in his cabinet, engraved by Scotin and placed in the frontispiece, 3 folding plates and a folding map. Light spotting on the edge of the faux-tittre and title in Volume III, some foxing, splits on the edge of folding plate no. III and at the fold of the map. Restorations to binding (spine, headpieces and corners).
