STRUVE (Henri).
Recueil de mémoires sur les salines et leur exploitation. Genève, Paschoud, An XI (1803). In-12, fawn half-basin with small vellum corners, smooth spine decorated, red title page (contemporary binding). First edition, illustrated with a fold-out plate. Swiss chemist and mineralogist Henri Struve (1751-1826) was an honorary professor at the Lausanne Academy and the first holder of the chair of chemistry and mineralogy. In 1804, he was appointed Inspector General of mines and salt works in the Canton of Vaud. Handwritten note at the top of the title: Donné par M. L. Dupré à J. de Fontenille. Some yellowed leaves. Head cover missing.
