Moral and political works. Paris, Pierre Rocolet, François Targa, 1633. Large volume in-8, limp vellum, traces of binding, title in ink on spine (contemporary binding).
Second edition of Jean Baudouin's French translation, following that of 1626 published by the same editors (Gibson, Francis Bacon, no. 165).
It is decorated with a title-frontispiece and a portrait of Francis Bacon (1561-1626), engraved on copper by Crispin de Passe.
A pleasant copy in contemporary vellum.
Angular staining on several leaves, small paper loss with loss of a few letters at the lower corner of leaf Qq1.
