Barbey apologizes for the paper on which he writes "[...] I have no other to hand. I've been very ill, bedridden, vomiting nervously. My first outing is to you. Would you like to think about Joseph Delorme [de Sainte-Beuve]? I'm going to the country tomorrow, but on Monday when I come back from Madame [Amable] Tastu's you'll find me all yours. J B".
