BARBEY D'AUREVILLY (Jules) Le Chevalier des Touches. Paris, Michel Lévy frères, 1864. In-12, blue half-maroquin, spine ribbed with gold titling, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine (G. Gauché Rel. Paris). First edition, of which no large paper was printed. One of Barbey's masterpieces, inspired by the life of Jacques des Touches, a historical figure and hero of the Norman Chouannerie. Spine a little faded. Restoration to cover and spine.
