DICKENS (Charles) Master Humphrey's Clock. London, Chapman and Hall, 1840-1841. 3 volumes in-4, purple half calf with corners, ribbed spines decorated with gilt fillets, black titles and greeces, marbled edges (Binding of the period). First edition, illustrated with 3 frontispieces and numerous woodcuts in the text, by George Cattermole and H. K. Browne (Eckel, pp. 61-65). Well bound. Engraved bookplate Julius Lakatos. Without the dedication leaf to Samuel Rogers in Volume I, nor the 4 leaves of the publisher's catalog at the end of Volume III. Stains to a few leaves. Spine faded, scuffing to binding.
