In-4, midnight-blue morocco, on each cover a large floral vase in beige, pink and green morocco, surrounded by a geometrical decoration in gilded fillet evoking a mosaic of irregular tiles, spine decorated with the title in gilded fillet written in Chinese style, inner scroll, lining in pink Russian leather, midnight-blue brocaded silk endpapers, gilded edges, cover and spine, midnight-blue half-maroquin and band folder, slipcase (Max Fonsèque). Edition produced under the artistic direction of Édouard Chinot, decorated with 26 etchings and drypoints by Edgar Chahine, including 8 hors texte and one on the cover. Edition of 226 copies, this one of 120 on Rives vellum, specially produced and watermarked, containing the engravings in their final state. Copy in an interesting binding by Max Fonsèque, from the Félix Marcilhac library (2012, no. 16).
