GENET (Jean) Notre-Dame-des-Fleurs. Monte-Carlo, Aux dépens d'un amateur, s.d. [December 1943]. In-4, lizard, spine and part of boards in taupe, the other half in gray-blue, mosaic title in the same style with inverted colors arranged vertically along the dividing line of the boards, author's name in full on the spine, light gray nubuck lining and endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, cover and spine, slipcase and dust jacket (Alain Devauchelle 1995). First edition, printed clandestinely. This is Jean Genet's first novel, written during his imprisonment at Fresnes. One of 350 numbered copies entirely reserved for subscribers, the only edition announced. Beautiful binding by Devauchelle.
