MERLE Description historique et pittoresque du château de Chambord offert par la France à S.A.R. Mgr le Duc de Bordeaux. Dedicated to the communes of France, by Messrs Merle and Périé. Paris, Didot l'aîné, 1821, album in-folio, 2ff.-33pp. - 11 plates numbered 2 to 10 + I. Bound in cherry half-basin, corners, smooth spine. (Minor rubbing to binding, some spotting) 4 vignette lithographs bearing title and text; 9 large views of the château lithographed by Engelmann after Périé, Villeneuve and Fragonard. Some are printed on a tinted background. Plate 11 is a plan of the château, followed by an unnumbered plan of the park. Plate 1 does not appear in any album.
