Batak protection pendant Carved antler (deer antler) Indonesia, Batak H. 19 cm (small chip to tip) This deer antler Batak element is carved with fantastic animal motifs intertwined with vegetation. The object consists of a base that divides into two parts ending in a spiral. It has a point of attachment at the base, which is adorned with a frieze of fish scales and another of braided motifs. This object may have been worn as a protective pendant.
