The handle of this katar is gold inlaid. The uprights are decorated with cartouches of plant motifs and the ends with a trio of stones. The baluster-shaped central tenons are also gold damascened and frame two symmetrical crosses. At the base of the blade, the central edge takes the form of a fleuron extended by a cypress tree, framed by two openwork scrolls in gold damascene. The blade features two gutters and multiple edges, and is swollen at the tip.
