Plaquette, leaf from a writing pad, in bas-relief carved ivory depicting the Crucifixion under three three-lobed arches surmounted by high gables with floriated pinnacles and spandrels furnished with pointed trefoils. In the center, Christ on the cross, between the Virgin Mary supported by two holy women on one side and, on the other, Saint John accompanied by the centurion holding a scroll symbolizing his proclamation that "this man was truly the Son of God" (Mark 15:39). Mounting hole at top.

A slightly smaller plate in the Musée Lorrain in Nancy features a similar Crucifixion scene (inv. III.364). Two others are in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (inv. CIRC.495-1923 and A.25-1940).
