Carved oak applique group depicting Saint Anne, the Virgin Mary and the Infant Jesus. Mary and Anne are seated on a bench on either side of the Child, who is standing on a cushion; Mary, her head crowned, a book open in front of her, is holding Jesus' left arm, while Saint Anne is holding out a piece of fruit from the cup on her lap; the Child is dressed in a tunic with a turned-down collar, tightened at the waist by a belt from which a pouch hangs.

Provenance :
- In the 19th century, this group adorned the center panel of a dresser from the collection of the Count and Countess of Renesse, sold at auction in 1885 (Catalogue Bruxelles, Galerie Saint-Luc, February 5, 1885, Catalogue des Tableaux anciens ..., lot 527).
