Curved polychrome painted enamel plaque with gold highlights depicting Saint Laurent, lumpy purplish counter-enamel. The holy deacon, dressed in a dalmatic and cloak, holds a grill in his right hand; inscription SAINCT LAVRENT all around; monogram MR lower right. Limoges, Martial Reymond (1570-1609), late 16th century In a silver frame. H. 10 cm - W. 8 cm (minor restorations) Martial Reymond was the son of Jean Reymond, whose style and technique he adopted. The vivid polychromy and gold-enhanced lines of this plate can be found on a dish in the Frick Collection, New York (inv. 1916.4.29). Book consulted : - M.
