Living Christ in pearwood, finely carved in the round with a patina finish. Head with imploring gaze raised to heaven, crown with intertwined thorns, abundant hair with wavy locks spreading over the shoulders, anatomically accentuated torso with sternal striae, visible diaphragm and ribs, protruding flanks, eye-shaped navel, venous networks on arms and legs, short perizonium held in place by a cord with lateral fall on the right hip, asymmetrical legs with the right one bent and superimposed feet. Beautifully executed. Southern Germany, first half of the 17th century H. 33 cm (minor damage to fingers)
