Of contoured form, it is decorated with scenes in guilloche surrounds, on the top "Meleager presenting the boar Calydon's head to Atalanta", Ovid's Metamorphoses (8, 420-444), a composition inspired by an engraving by Bernard Salomon (Lyon, circa 1557, fig.); on the bottom, an elongated River God holding a rudder; interior with removable tray; gold mount.
