Important Good Shepherd Jesus in ivory carved in the round. Seated on a heart pierced by two arrows, surrounded by two sheep and a pelican feeding its young, the sleeping Child is dressed in a shepherd's tunic with diamond tips, a sack slung over his shoulder and a flask hanging from his belt; his left hand holds a sheep lying on his knee; three-level rock carved with crevices containing a Fountain of Life between Saint Anne and Saint Joachim, Saint John the Baptist in the Desert and a grotto housing the Nativity to the shepherds; birds and sheep animate these scenes, which continue on the sides; base adorned with a frieze of cherubs' heads; on either side of the Nativity are Mary Magdalene at the Sainte-Baume and Saint Peter meditating.
